Description

Daisycare is a newly opened, 24 hour nursery based in Edgbaston, Birmingham. The nursery is set in a sprawling two storey Edwardian building. Daisycare is situated close to Five Ways Island. The nursery is conveniently located near major transport links, and there is parking next to and on the premises, which will ensure smooth pick up and drop offs.

At Daisycare we provide high quality childcare in a safe secure environment with a focus on preparing young minds for a bright future whilst fostering a love for learning. We provide 24-hour care, 7 days a week including most bank holidays. These opening times supports families with changing shift patterns.

George Road is a quiet road, and secure parking is available throughout the day. Our facility has ample out door space, for the children to enjoy the fresh air and our home-grown herb and flower garden.

Our dedicated staff team are highly qualified from level 3 and Level 4 to degrees in Early Childhood. All staff qualified in advanced Paediatric First Aid.

Daisycare provides interactive tablets for the children to use which meets the areas of learning in the EYFS such as speaking and listening, learning to take turns, identifying the uses of technology and understanding the world around them. The use of the tablets is monitored, and children have limited time on them.

Our qualified chef, plans the menus weekly and ensures all meals are nutritionally balanced. All meals and snacks are prepared using fresh produce daily ensuring the children receive adequate nutrition and vitamins daily.

Duties Include

  • The main responsibilities of this job role will include:
  • Supporting the development of the childcare provision
  • Providing an excellent range of activities that ensures that the child learns whilst having fun
  • Assisting the facility in meeting OFSTED requirements
  • Being a team player
  • Providing challenging and stimulating activities for all children appropriately
  • Undertaking First Aid training as required
  • Undertaking training as appropriate to meet any changes in standards or appropriate legal requirements as required
  • Ensuring that all Health and Hygiene requirements are adhered to at all times
  • Responsibility for equal opportunity in delivery, access and attitude in aspects of service delivery and management
  • Working with teams across the Centre
  • Supporting children’s learning and development, including supporting planning and observations
  • Preparing and maintaining the environment and resources for the children
  • Preparation of food for breakfast, snack and afternoon tea
  • Supporting children’s self-help needs
  • Being creative and enthusiastic
  • Following safeguarding rules
  • Working within confidentiality guidelines

Weekly Wage

£3.90 per hour

Training Provided

Level 3 - Advanced Diploma Early Years Educator - Your apprenticeship will last for 12 months (depending on the provision in which you are employed). You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship, as well as a mentor within the nursery.

Skills Required

Applicants should have a desire to develop and enhance their childcare skills whilst working in a supportive nursery setting. This role is ideal for anybody who has a genuine passion for working with children and that is keen to learn and progress in their own professional development. The successful applicant will be a positive role model and enthusiastic individual.

You will need to attend our Training Academy in Birmingham City Centre for 10 days out of your whole apprenticeship, for your classroom-based learning and will be working within the nursery for the rest of the time with the support of your dedicated childcare assessor.

Successful applicants must:
• Be a qualified Level 2 NVQ Childcare Practitioner
• Have grade C/4 or above in English and Maths GCSE, or equivalent, or Functional Skills Level 2
• Have at least 6 months recent experience of working full-time in a childcare setting
